Sleep hygiene is a variety of different habits and practices used to improve sleep quality. 

Sleep Hygiene Solutions

  • Exercise regularly
  • Avoid foods that can trigger indigestion or large meals
  • Avoid caffeine, and alcohol before bedtime
  • Ensure adequate exposure to natural light
  • Establish a regular bedtime routine
  • Keeping the bedroom cool (between 60-67 degrees)
  • Turing off bright lights, cell phones & TV’s
  • Make bedroom as dark as possible or use eye covers
  • White noise machine
  • Limit daytime naps to 30 minutes or less

Try to avoid “Sleep Pills”

A lot of prescription sleep medications may help get more sleep but can inhibit quality sleep.
